Overview of using Deepen in your church service

Deepen is designed to enhance the audience experience during church services by providing synchronised slides and media via the Deepen mobile app.  The audience can engage and interact with the message from the privacy of their own device.

There are three main areas of focus required to use Deepen in your church service:

• Preparation and scheduling
• Presentation during the service
• Post service wrap up

Preparation and scheduling

Once you’ve set up your church on Deepen, you can prepare sermons and schedule them:

1. Prepare your sermon using the slide builder, or import your slides from other presentation software.
   
   
2. Connect your YouTube live stream to your sermon to allow online audiences to follow along.
   
   
3. Schedule the date and time of your service, and when ready, publish it so that appears in the Deepen mobile app.

Presentation during the service‍

During your event you can use your Deepen slides with your projector, while the slides are also viewable by the audience in the Deepen mobile app. You can use Deepen to run your presentation, or you can use other presentation software (e.g. ProPresent).

1. Login to Deepen Studio on the computer you use with your projector
   
   
2. Open the sermon you are presenting and present to your projector
   
   
3. If using Deepen as your presentation software:
   Navigate slides during the presentation while reaction animations appear in real time
   
   If using other presentation software:
   Export your slides, then import them into your chosen presentation software 

Note: If presenting using other software, reactions will not appear in real time on your slides.

Post service wrap up‍

Once your scheduled event duration time is complete, the event will no longer be shown in Deepen app as “live” and will be accessible via the “Catch up” section.

There is no action required once the event is finished, however you may want to edit aspects of the sermon.  For example, you may want to change the Youtube link to an edited version of the live stream or make minor edits to the slides.  These edits can be done at any time and will reflect in the app.
